READ THIS BEFORE REGISTERING For the first time, the Literary Festival is offering different types of workshops: Driver, and Passenger. In Driver workshops students discuss samples of their own writing, as well as critique their peers' work. The workshop also will provide a quick overview of the author's own writing journey and development of his or her style. Enrollment is limited, and enthusiastic participation is required. At or before the workshop, students MUST provide samples of their written work; please see detailed requirements in the workshop descriptions here. workshops include discussion of the author's writing journey, but the bulk of the time will be spent on hands-on exercises to develop your own writing. There's no requirement to submit a writing sample; all writing will be done during the workshop. Passenger workshops primarily involve an introduction to the author's writing life, with examples of how the author became a writer, and the process of writing. The workshop gives students the opportunity to interact with the author. Hands-on writing is not expected for this workshop. Read the workshop descriptions, then choose the level of workshop that suits your expectations. Multiple workshops of each type are offered during your English class period. | |||||||

Instructions: Find a workshop that meets during your English-class period. You must sign up for a workshop during that class period. You may also sign up for workshops that meet during your other free periods (if any). (No workshops are offered during 5th period.) When you've decided which workshop to attend, click the classroom for that workshop. Be sure you are clicking a session that's offered during your regular English class period or a free period. A registration screen will appear. You'll need to register separately for each workshop you'll attend. You are expected to attend every workshop you've registered for, and attendance will be taken.
