Open-Mic Night
Each year, Half-Price Books on Northwest Highway hosts the student talent show known as Open-Mic Night. Organized by the Literary Festival student committee, Open-Mic invites Highland Park High School students to perform songs, short stories, and poetry — their own and others'. The off-campus, coffee-house-like setting provides a casual atmosphere for students to perform or just be part of the audience.
Open-Mic Night is the part of Lit Fest that is solely by students and solely for students.
This year's Open-Mic Night is Wednesday, November 14 at 7 pm. If you'd like to perform, show up at Half-Price Books, 5803 East Northwest Highway (just east of Central), at about 6:30 so we can get you slotted in the evening's performances. See you there.
