Guidelines
Each submission—regardless of the category—must:
- Be titled
- Be typed
- Be double-spaced
- Include your student ID number and phone number in the upper right corner of each page
Categories:
- Short Fiction: Judged by Robert Nelsen, Director of Creative Writing and Associate Professor at UTD.
- Must not exceed 1,500 words
- Must be marked "FICTION" at the top of first page
- Poetry: Judged by Alan Birkelbach, 2005 Poet Laureate of Texas
- Must not exceed fifty lines
- Must be marked "POEM" at the top of first page
- Imaginative Essay: Judged by Lori Ann Stephens, Ph.D., lecturer at UTD and SMU
- Must not exceed 1,000 words
- Must be marked "ESSAY" at the top of first page
Please submit all contest entries to Mr. Damiano in Room G125 between now and the contest deadline: Friday, February 13 at 4:00 pm. Please follow all of these guidelines; it would be too sad if your entry were disqualfied.
